We just attended a mostly surprise party for Aunt Joan who is turning 60 this week. We had some good fun watching the cake go up in smoke with 60 candles on it though! I'm pretty sure that the pictures tell the story pretty well. I think that the bottom line is that you should just buy the wax number candles and throw a "6" and a "0" on there - but this as you can see is much more fun - and makes for better pictures!
She didn't ever really get to "blowing" the candles out, mostly because the table was catching on fire and the wax candles melted into a waxxy heap and the sparkler candles made a mess everywhere. Then you have the water that was thrown on it to douse the fire! In the end we all had a good laugh and Carol ended up with a singed (burnt) tablecloth.
